STILL NOT SURE?

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a doctor's refferal to book a home visit?

No, you do not need a GP or doctor's referral to book a private mobile physiotherapy session. You can book directly with us. However, if you are claiming through Medicare (GP Management Plan / EPC), DVA, WorkCover, or third-party insurers, you will need to provide the relevant referral documents from your GP.

Can I claim private health insurance

Yes, absolutely. Because all treatments are provided by an AHPRA-registered physiotherapist, they are eligible for private health fund rebates under 'Physiotherapy' extras. We supply a formal digital receipt containing your therapist's provider numbers and relevant item codes (such as Code 530 for an Initial Home Assessment or Code 535 for a Subsequent Home Visit) so you can easily claim online.

What does Mobile Physiotherapy Look?

We are a local mobile physio service that services most Adelaide metropolitan areas. Initial assessments go for 60 minutes and reoccuring assessments are 45 minutes. We come with a portable bed EPOS machine for payment processing and private health insurance claims to make it convenient for you.

What do I need to prepare before a mobile physio treatment?

All you need is a clear floor space, roughly enough space to set up a standard portable treatment table with room to move around it. A living room, clean study, or bedroom works perfectly. We bring the treatment table and all clinical supplies. Please wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows easy movement.

What's the difference between Fascial Counterstrain and standard massage?

Standard massage focuses on surface-level muscle friction, which may provide short-term relief. Our clinical approach combines full remedial massage with Fascial Counterstrain (FCS). FCS is a gentle, pain-free system that identifies tender points throughout the body's fascia (the wrapping around muscles, cartilage, ligaments, nerves, blood vessels, and viscera) and uses passive positioning to turn off the nervous system's protective spasm reflexes. This releases deep, chronic tightness that direct pressure massage alone cannot reach.

What to expect during the initial assessment?

All initial assessments go for 60 minutes to ensure that all questions are asked and answered; there's a physical assessment and also time for treatment. Please wear loose clothing and ensure there's enough space for a portable bed that's 180cm long.

Is NDIS or Medicare accepted?

Yes, services can be funded via NDIS plans (Improved Daily Living), Home Care Packages, or Medicare plans if referred by your GP

What conditions do you work with?

We work with a wide range of conditions — from chronic pain through to post-surgical recovery, sports injuries. Typically, most people that see us are because conventional exercise programs weren't helping their symptoms.

Will I see improvements on the first treatment?

It typically depends on how long you've had the problem for and how severe it is, and if it's affecting other parts of the body.

How far out of Adelaide will you go?

I've driven all the way down south to Port Norlunga and Christie's beach, all the way up to Gawler. Any where outside the 15km radius from the CBD 5000, there is a $25 travel fee.

How much does it cost?

$155 for initial and ongoing assessments.
If you are outside the 15km radius from the Adelaide CBD 5000, there is a $25 travel fee added.

What if I feel worse after the treatment?

Mild soreness, fatigue, or brief flare-ups do occur with clients. This is usually a sign that something is shifting.

We'll prepare and educate you for what to expect and are always available to support you through the process.

Why a Mobile Physio service is for you?

  • Travelling back and forth to a physio clinic, rushing to get there on time whilst juggling your day to say schedule with busy work/ family life balance.

  • Expecting hands-on treatment and by the end sent you off with some basic stretches you could've got from Google or Youtube.

  • You've been through the ringer with various Practitioners and got them to mashed hard on the symptom area and not seeing much week to week change.

  • By the end of the initial assessment we will have have a plan and have identified areas around the entire body that's contributing to your presentation so that way you're well informed and empowered to take action independently. As much as I like my clients, I'd rather you get better and see me less often :)

About me

Hey, I'm Phil!

I started Mobile Physio Adelaide to bridge the gap between high-level clinical expertise and the convenience of mobile care. My goal is to eliminate the barriers to recovery—whether that's travel stress or rigid appointment times.

My practice centres on Fascial Counterstrain, a manual therapy technique that works with the body's fascial system. This whole-person, holistic approach addresses the fascial and nervous system together to help manage chronic tension and support natural movement recovery.
